Change the World with Technology

OK, I know, technology is paving the road to hell for us all. But that doesn't mean it can't do some good, too. And in this case, it's up to you. Phil Ryu, blogger and Mac developer recently opened a contest called "My Dream App", in which contestants submit ideas for exciting new apps for the Mac. This quote pretty much sums it up:
Welcome to My Dream App. You're about to be involved in a revolution in the software industry: a no holds barred, totally transparent and ridiculously low barrier version of Macintosh shareware development. Ever wished you had the programming chops to create a killer app? For the first time, you're going to have a chance to make those dream apps come true.

Contestants submit their ideas, and then the submissions are narrowed down to about 24 by three judges. Anyone who has submitted an idea, can then vote...It is eventually up to the people who will win. The winner will receive a free MacBook, and the three runners up a video iPod. The most exciting part is that the winner's idea will be developed into a real shareware app by the developer judges. Some cool ideas have already been submitted - including revolutionary browsers, and mine, simply called "Zen" and likely the simplest of all the ideas. Check it out, have a look around, and sign up and submit your idea. Dream App
